I’m not exactly an amateur, though I’ve not tried a rebuild before! Cannons Be Loadin’ Cap’n!
I found this funny because my computer was purchased in Main reason being that HP don’t want to know about something that old; to mis bluntly honest, nobody in the tech world does these days! There is no ‘washing of hands of it’ per se, as HP had it manufactured to ‘their’ specifications of which MSI no longer played a part in it.

When i get it goingmso will return to rate its performance. Shipped very wellwhen right this board is hard to beat. During my sister’s nine years with it, all she did with it was shop on Amazon, amethhyst-m play ‘The Sims’; it’s in virtually as new condition, and does everything that I want it to do Amazingly, this product was “new” as promised.

I know it was produced under licence for HP, shortly after their takeover of Compaq, some 10 years ago now. Linux is more complicated, so here is a forum link to study up on how others have got it to work.
