AMI supplies state-of-the-art hardware, software and utilities to top-tier manufacturers of desktop, server, mobile and embedded systems. The next step is open software to interface with OpenBMC to do things like rack-level power management. But BMCs almost invariably ship with a proprietary IPMI implementation in binary-blob form though, in most cases, that blob is running on Linuxwhich is limited in functionality to what the vendor chooses.
